She kept saying that we celebrate the 4th because the king doesn't take our taxis anymore. Jake kept trying to get her to say it was to celebrate our freedom, but to no avail. (We figured Taxis were close enough to taxes). Her dad is an accountant and there is a lot of talk about taxes. I didn't have the heart to tell her that we still pay taxes. She'll figure it out someday.
She loved the fireworks. We went to a show down in Buda. The one is Austin sounds like it is a zoo. They said they were expecting 100,000 people. We changed our minds, so there were probably only 99,996. Driving downtown and then out with all the traffic didn't sound fun. Add in that a lot of people were consuming alot of alcohol and we figured going close was safer. It was actually alot of fun. It was a big park with snow cones and amazing Texas BBQ. The fireworkshow was over 30 minutes. Emma was hooping and hollering the whole time. Nate was just sitting there laughing for the first bit. Then he got bored and crawled around the blanket. Good thing we don't have that king taking our taxis, so we can have firework shows.
