Happy 4th

Yesterday Emma asked me what is was like when I was a kid and we had a king. I guess we had left out that the revolutionary war was a long time ago. She wanted to know "what it was like when there was a king that took all our taxis?" "Taxis are money" She's got it close.

She kept saying that we celebrate the 4th because the king doesn't take our taxis anymore. Jake kept trying to get her to say it was to celebrate our freedom, but to no avail. (We figured Taxis were close enough to taxes). Her dad is an accountant and there is a lot of talk about taxes. I didn't have the heart to tell her that we still pay taxes. She'll figure it out someday.

She loved the fireworks. We went to a show down in Buda. The one is Austin sounds like it is a zoo. They said they were expecting 100,000 people. We changed our minds, so there were probably only 99,996. Driving downtown and then out with all the traffic didn't sound fun. Add in that a lot of people were consuming alot of alcohol and we figured going close was safer. It was actually alot of fun. It was a big park with snow cones and amazing Texas BBQ. The fireworkshow was over 30 minutes. Emma was hooping and hollering the whole time. Nate was just sitting there laughing for the first bit. Then he got bored and crawled around the blanket. Good thing we don't have that king taking our taxis, so we can have firework shows.

Clapping

I know they are short, but you have to get him to do it, then push play and then there is a slight delay until it starts recording and then he sees the camera and stops. A very tricky thing to catch. He does it all the time though. He is very proud of it! He is even starting to do "yea" when he does it.

Nate crawling

Nate crawling one week ago. My kids think you should crawl on your feet not your knees.

Here is Nate crawling this week. I wanted to get a picture of his knees, but the camera battery died and the charger is yet to be unpacked. His knees are all red from him crawling non stop all day. Emma screams anytime he goes someplace that she thinks he shouldn't. Which makes him want to go there even more so he can get her to react. Needless to say he thinks its hilarious to crawl into the bathroom or near the garbage can now.

His new trick is to stand up on things. He is not ready to stand up yet and it is ending in alot of banged heads and big tears.

Emma's favorite thing in Texas!

The African Safari- Texas Style. emma loves feeding the goats. She thinks it is her responsibility to feed every single one! She loves feeding all the wild animals as we drive around. This end is much better coming in the window. Two zebra were fighting over the food and one tried to come in the window butt first. Didn't go so well. The ostrich was determined to come in our car and we had beak marks all over the windshield where he was trying to peck us.

Excuse me while I see how I look this morning.
This place is a must see. We love it.

Shaving Cream!

Sissy is always playing with such cool things! Today Nate got to play with the shaving cream with her. Emma only gets it on her hands, but Nate was a little more expressive!
Atleast it is a mess that smells nice!

Nate

Nate and Grandpa. Go BYU!
Nate the eating machine. Seeing how much he eats and how skinny he stays I wonder how Emma survived. She didn't eat anything.

Graduation!

It's DONE! In case you didn't hear Jake finished his Masters in April and we bid a sad farewell to Provo.

Following tradition Emma walked with Jake
Nate wore his matching gown
Family pic in front of the Tanner. Many an hour spent there for everyone, except Nate. Emma even knows where all the vending machines and study rooms are. She's even watched a movie on the big screen in 151, while dad studied with a group.

Good Bye Disney

Good bye!

Nate is so excited about the ride, can you tell?
So I wanted to get all the pics up, but I am being so slow at it that by the time I finish I will be putting up Nate's graduation photos. We loved going. Emma was a great age and she keeps asking when we can go back.

Princesses

Emma even got to dance with Cinderella. What more could you ask? Pretty much all her life dreams were fulfilled that morning.
I think we've seen Snow White once, but that doesn't matter, we love her!
These ere not people in costume, they are the REAL Princesses!
Minnie had some extra time and made a suprise stop by! Mulan may have not been a favorite princess, but she moved up after this trip!

If you guys are ever at Disneyland, then the Princess area is a must see. Emma loved it. Probably one of her favorite things. Although everything was her favorite if you ask her!
