So tonight we are on a severe winter storm warning...It was 69 here today - Go figure. It is so weird here. It will be warm in the morning and as the sunny day progresses it gets colder. Not sure how that works. (OK, I do - the northern winds start blowing and there goes the heat.) I was hoping the freezing rain would hit here tonight, but it looks like its going to miss us. They are expecting it just barely outside our area. So fingers crossed that it comes 20 miles farther South than they are predicting. I wanted them to cancel school and work. Oh, well. maybe next year.
I also wanted to share something Emma said the other day. We were talking about shopping and she said, "We should buy some rabbit food for Nathan." Jake and I were both a little shocked/confused. We asked her why and she said, "One time I saw him eating some and he liked it." To which we clarified that we should not let him eat the bunny food and probably didn't need to buy him his own bag. We were cracking up later about it.
Which leads me to my next musing. We had an emergency preparedness night at church this last week. They reminded us to make sure we had pet food in our 72 hour kits and food storage. Don't think I'm crazy, but I was thinking that if we were living on our food storage I would be eating my pet. It is a rabbit after all and they are meat animals. (No one call PETA on me.) I mean we love Fluffy, but seriously in an emergency where we are running out of the house with our 72 hour kits - the bunny is getting left. If we know we won't be back for a while maybe I'll let it go loose. I'm not sticking any bunny MRE's in my already too heavy pack.

Riverwalk
Christmas Day
Sea World at Christmas
We went to Sea World on Christmas Eve and it was the best. There were no lines, the weather was gorgeous and we had tons of fun. We went several times over the break. Emma is very disappointed that it is closed until March.

Journey to Atlantis. I think this was Zoe's favorite ride. Emma loves it too and we even got Morgan on it. He closed his eyes the whole time (the first time), which I think makes it scarier, but he did it.

You can see Kent, Andrew and Isabelle are in the second row.

Kent and Andrew on the Rio Loco. Luckily they had shut off the waterfall, so you didn't get as wet, but Grandpa had quarters and got us with the squirting water.

Jake, Tanya, Zoe and Emma on the Rio Loco

Samuel wasn't a big fan of roller coasters, but we got him to go on the Texas Splashdown. I think he had fun.

Bendaroos
I was wondering if anyone had played with Bendaroos. (www.bendaroos.com) They looked really fun, but I wanted a real persons review. We thought moon sand looked really fun and that was the flop of Christmas a year ago. The stuff is awful.
The infomerical on bendaroos has Emma sold on them. So if you have any input - please feel free to share.

Musings of a 5 year old
So once a month we go out to have pizza at Pizza Hut. (Yes, the Book It! program is a great marketing tool). So we headed out Friday night to go cash in Emma's coupon before it expired. The wait was quite long. So we had a lot of time to wrestle with Nathan (I think our dining out days are coming to a close for a while) and to talk.
Emma asked, "Why is she called a waitress?" To which we explained that the person that brings you food and takes your order is a waitress or waiter. We elaborated a little more and felt that we had satisfied her question. Then she made the observation, "Yea, but she's not the one who has to wait - we are!" She then explained that she thought we should be called waitresses, because we are the ones that have to wait. I think she might have something here. If we have to wait on the waitress we should be called the waitress and we get to keep the tip - not you.
Sadly I think this was my last trip to Pizza Hut. I secretly love their pizza, but it makes me sick. I hadn't eaten there in like 10 years and then Emma started getting these coupons. Every time we go I get really sick. I remember having this problem as a kid. Anyone know what they might do different there? Any secret ingredient? This is the only pizza that makes me sick.

That's why we live in Texas
So I'm so behind on my blogging...I need to get pictures from my dad of all the recent activities, his camera was always available. We had a ton of fun over Christmas. Here are some pictures from a warm afternoon.
How many cousins can you squeeze in one sprinkler?
