Tanya's Birthday

I know I'm behind on my blogging....I  have no excuse.  For my birthday Jake suprised me and flew my friend Amanda out.  She and her adorable baby Ali were here for almost a week.  What a great birthday present.
We had a great time.  We went down and visited the riverwalk, had dinner down at the Casa Rio, took pictures of the Alamo (it was closed), had fun enjoying the sunny days of winter, went to the safari place and just had fun hanging out.  It was fun watching Ali explore the grass - she hadn't seen much green grass since she has been mobile.

I know Nate looks innocent in this picture, but he decided that Ali would be the perfect victim to learn what was a soft pat and what was an unallowed hit.  I told Ali that when she reaches that point she is free to use Nate as  a test subject.

The partners in crime did do a good job working together to make the biggest mess at Jason's Deli.  Poor guy that had to clean up after us.

We only let one goat escape and he only got out the first gate and then we got him back in.  Ali wasn't as sure about the goats, but Nate loved them.  He noticed for the first time that they have handles (tails) on their rear ends.  They didn't work so well for pulling the goats, but that didn't stop Nate from trying to over and over again.

Emma loved having Ali around.  She loved having Amanda around too.  It was stressful for her when she left and Emma kept asking if we could go back to our house in Utah.  We did practically live together during the summers and Emma loves Amanda and Ryan Bowler (never just Ryan, always Ryan Bowler)
Nate had to be in the crib with Ali.  They were really cute together.  Thanks for coming Amanda and thanks for letting her come Ryan.  It was a blast.

It was so much fun to come and visit you guys! Thank you so much Jake for flying us down! Maybe for my birthday sometime Ryan can fly us down again-we'll just invite ourselves. Everything was great- the weather, the activities, and especially the company!

We'd love to have you come down any time - the door is always open. Plus we have to take Ryan to go see the animals.
