LEGO Cake

So Emma's school had a renaissance festival today. It was alot of fun. There were games, bounce houses, food, prizes, horses, knights...what more could you ask for? The kids had a blast. I was helping in the kitchen most of the time, so Jake took them around all day to do the games. They had some great prizes and they came back totally loaded with them.
Part of the festival was a silent auction for gift baskets full of stuff. Our class theme was Legos and we didn't have a ton of donations, so I made a cake to go with our basket. I was all excited when I came up with the idea, but Thursday night when it came time to cover the first Lego it wasn't going so well. A little googling and we were back in business. I'm super excited about how it turned out.

One lego was chocolate, one vanilla and one marble. The man was made of rice krispies. Which was really fun to work with. You could do some crazy stuff with it.
After this cake I'm super excited to take a class and learn how to do this stuff. I'm thinking of trying to find one at Michaels or Hobby Lobby if anyone wants to take it with me.
Last night I was talking about how I couldn't believe how crazy some of the baskets were. I said we weren't going to spend over 30 on a basket. Lets just say we didn't stay anywhere near that amount. Good thing it had a ton of giftcards for HEB and Walmart, so we got our money back out of it there. We had to take over the KIA and put the seats down to get it home. Good thing we have a hatchback, because it wouldn't fit in my trunk. Intrigued about what was in it? Just one part of it was a full size gas BBQ grill. Yes, we support our schools.
