Emma just finished up her first season of basketball. We played with the YMCA and it was a lot of fun. She had a great team and a great coach. She did really well and we look forward to lots more.
Emma was a hustler and while she was a leading scorer she was also great on defense. It helps being one of the tallest ones.
Getting the trophies at the end.
Enjoying the end of season goodies.

The basketball cake that mom made.

Chilling before the game.
Ok, so funny story about the end of season party. We had it at this big playground. I had all the kids there and it happened to be one of those few Saturdays that Jake had to work....so, Nate climbed up into the play equipment. As he headed to go down a slide I couldn't see him, so I walked around to the other side. He must have gone down the slide at this point, because I couldn't find him. So I walked back around and didn't see him. I looked for a few more seconds and Jenny started to help me find him. I couldn't find him anywhere (OK, this is over like a 2 minute period, but it seemed like forever). There was a birthday party at the park and they had a bounce house. I look over and see a little white head in bouncing up and down in the house. (He really stood out, since it was a Hispanic family having the party and he was the only blonde over there). I was so embarrassed as I had to go get my kid out of their bounce house...which he didn't want to leave. Yup, I'm definitely not winning mother of the year with this story.

I love your Valentine's traditions, and I am so impressed with the basketball cake, and don't feel bad about Nate getting away-I think you'll still manage to win Mother of the Year every year! I wish we lived closer, you always do such fun things!!!
