Memorial Day at Port Aransas

We love Port Aransas.  Its about 2.5 miles and one free ferry ride from us.  I hear there are a few better beaches farther away, but I haven't been able to justify being stuck in the car any longer than 2.5 hours.  Usually that means we can make it with just one potty break.

So Memorial Day weekend found us packing up the new minivan (since there was no way all our stuff would have fit in the car) and heading South to the Gulf of Mexico.  For....

Kite Flying

Bouncy Chair sitting

Hat wearing

Body burying

Time out sitting
(for building a pile of sand next to our brother in his bouncy seat so that he could then eat the sand by the handfuls, which both children thought was hilarious, but their parents did not.)

Happy Times

Sun block applying, because when you take a dermatologist to the beach with you you can't skip applications.

Sea Gull Feeding

More hat wearing in the beautiful sun

Beach napping

Sandcastle Making

Crab catching.  Nate was out in the water with Jake when he started saying something was poking his foot.  Jake picked him up and he had a little crab stuck on the bottom of his foot.

The crab

Swimming

Posing for pictures

Riding Ferries

We camped right on the beach  At high tide the water was maybe 20 feet away.  We had races up and down the beach in the dark.  We saw lots of fish and dolphins.  We ate at some great local dives, got lots of sand in our clothes, ate junk food, roated marshmallows, and made great memories.  We love Port Aransas.
